Planning Commission – Town of Trafalgar

The Town of Trafalgar Planning Commission guides the town’s physical growth and land use in alignment with its comprehensive plan. The Commission reviews subdivision plats, zoning changes, development plans, and other proposals to ensure that new development is orderly, sustainable, and serves the public interest.

Our Responsibilities

Review and approve subdivision and site development plans
Make recommendations to the Town Council on zoning ordinances and amendments
Evaluate land use proposals and development patterns
Ensure that growth aligns with the Town of Trafalgar’s long-term goals and comprehensive plan

Appointment & Term

The Commission is made up of seven voting members and one non-voting Secretary. Three voting members are appointed by the Town Council and must be elected or appointed municipal officials or employees. The remaining four voting members are appointed by the Town Council President, with no more than two members from the same political party. The Secretary serves in a non-voting capacity and is appointed by the Town Council.
